BCIA certifies individuals who meet education and training standards in biofeedback and progressively recertifies those who advance their knowledge through continuing education.

Recognition
BCIA is recognized as the certification body for the clinical practice of biofeedback by the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB), the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe (BFE), and the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR).

Board Certification Areas
BCIA offers Biofeedback Certification, Neurofeedback Certification, and Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback Certification.  Clinical, Academic, and Technician certification tracks are available for Biofeedback and Neurofeedback, while only the Clinical track is available for Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback. August 2012 Update

The International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR) is offering their 20th Annual Conference September 19 – 23, 2012 in Orlando, Florida.  This meeting is the premier event in our field, featuring speakers and topics that range from beginner to advanced.   In addition, you will have an opportunity to visit the exhibit area to see the latest equipment advances and there is no other place to have the networking opportunities afforded you at this meeting.  The Hyatt Regency, the host hotel, will provide you with the perfect setting to learn more about our field, meet new friends and catch up with old, as well as fulfill your continuing education expectations – all within close proximity to DisneyWorld! 

ISNR also will be offering pre-conference workshops September 17 – 19.  Be sure to check out the schedule so that you can begin how best to spend your time in Orlando.  BCIA events of interest:

  • Thursday, September 20 – Small Group Discussion:  BCIA Certification.  Come meet with Judy Crawford and have her demystify the certification process.
  • Friday, September 21 – Small Group Discussion:  Mentoring with Sarah Wyckoff and Judy Crawford.  Have you ever wondered how you can share what you’ve learned with the next group of clinicians?  Stop in and see how you fit!
