Life in the DS
Careers
Over the course of your career as a support officer, you will have the opportunity to serve in a variety of locations and an assortment of positions. You will enhance your skills by progressively tackling more challenging duties within an area of specialization, or by building on your experience and contacts to coordinate support activities.
Support officers generally serve alongside their customers. They rotate to new posts every few years according to their interests and experience. Career opportunities for Directorate of Support officers reflect the complex duties and support requirements across the Agency and the Intelligence Community.
Training Resources
The Agency is committed to providing its employees with the skills needed to carry out their jobs and advance their Agency careers. Employees have access to a wide range of both internal courses and local academic offerings.
As the Directorate of Support's learning and career development hub, the Mahoney Center for Support Tradecraft and Leadership Development (MC), strengthens core DS Tradecraft skills, increases learning opportunities, and develops leaders both for today and the future.
The Center is home to the DS programs that support mentoring, leadership development, career development and diversity. Through MC, Support professionals and others can take advantage of corporate and technical training -- and development -- aimed at mission and career advancement.
The Center ensures that the Directorate of Support leverages and integrates training resources and best practices.
