Wounded Warrior Resources

DoD Resources

  • Air Force Wounded Warrior Program (AFW2) - The Air Force will take care of its Wounded Warriors. We will fully support the Office of the Secretary of Defense programs to keep highly skilled men and women on active duty.
  • Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) - Taking care of wounded warriors is an important part of the Army's mission. The Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) is the official U.S. Army program that assists and advocates for severely wounded, injured, and ill Soldiers and their Families, wherever they are located, for as long as it takes.
  • DFAS Wounded Warrior Pay Support Team - Provides accurate, real-time financial support to service members who are medically evacuated as a result of wounds, disease, or injury incurred while serving in a combat zone.
  • DoD Wounded Warrior Resource Center (WWRC) - The WWRC is a DoD website which provides wounded service members, their families, and caregivers the information they need on military facilities, health care services, and benefits.
  • Navy Wounded Warrior Care Resources - The Navy is committed to providing our Sailors and their families the medical care and non-medical care and support throughout their recovery, rehabilitation, reintegration and beyond worthy of their service and sacrifice.
  • USMC Wounded Warrior Regiment (WWR) - Provide and facilitate assistance to wounded/injured/ill Marines, Sailors attached to or in support of Marine units, and their family members throughout the phases of recovery.

Non-DoD Services

  • Disability Benefits For Wounded Warriors - Military service members can receive expedited processing of disability claims from Social Security. The expedited process is used for military service members who become disabled while on active military service on or after October 1, 2001, regardless of where the disability occurs.
  • Wounded Warrior Family Support - Our mission is to provide support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured or killed during combat operations. The families of our casualties suffer in many ways: some financially, some psychologically.
