CTC conference discusses future live training

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. -- The Combat Training Center (CTC) Commanders Conference discussed how the Army will adjust live training events and exercises to respond to the post-Iraq and soon to be post-Afghanistan operational environments. Representatives from the Army, sister services and international partners met Sept. 5-6 to discuss a wide range of issues as the Army adapts its training strategy to meet future requirements.

ITE test starts at Fort Hood

FORT HOOD, TEXAS -- Soldiers of the 1st Cavalry Division began a field test of an innovative system that harnesses Army training technology in a new way. The system is called the Integrated Training Environment (ITE). The ITE links live, virtual and constructive training simulations and simulators to provide the complex conditions found in current and predicted future operational environments. At Fort Hood, the Army's TRADOC Project Office -- Integrating Architecture (TPO-IA) from Fort Leavenworth, Kan., is conducting the First Use Assessment to determine if the training system is ready for other posts.

Army introducing Integrated Training Environment

The way ahead is the Integrated Training Environment (ITE), which links live, virtual, constructive and gaming training enablers. It provides the complex conditions found in current and predicted future operational environments — conditions that the Army cannot afford to replicate solely in live training.

Training simulation helps Fort Campbell's Soldiers

FORT CAMPBELL, KY - Soldiers went running through a virtual environment similar to Iraq or Afghanistan, while never leaving a pad a few feet wide. The post has unveiled the Dismounted Soldier Training System, a program they call the first ever fully immersive virtual simulation training for U.S. soldiers.
