Howard's Voting Record ResourcesThe Clerk of the House of Representatives maintains a list of votes for each motion and legislation that is voted on by the full House. These are called "roll call votes." Easy Guide to the Clerk's Roll Call Votes Database Step 1 Visit the Clerk's Roll Call Vote webpage. The far left column labed "Roll" will give you the number of the roll call vote. Moving to the column on the right, you see the date the vote was cast. The “Issue” links to detailed information about the measure under consideration. "Question" tells you if the vote was on final passage, on an amendment, or as otherwise noted. The "Result" is the outcome: P=passed, F=failed, and A=the amendment was agreed to. The last column tells you the title/descritpion of the measure. All votes are posted in reverse chronological order (most recent at the top). Step 2 Step 3 To look up votes from previous years: Visit the Clerk's Historical Information page and select a different session of Congress from the drop down menus.
