USPTO TO HIGHLIGHT SECURE, CUTTING-EDGE ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's (USPTO) Electronic Patent Application Filing System and its International Priority Document Exchange Project are two of a dozen demonstration projects that will be featured at a national conference hosted by the Government Information Technology Services Board. Secure communications, including digital signature, certification and key recovery technology will be demonstrated and discussed by the equipment designers and users. Security is a key component to the success of electronic commerce-secure technology, like that which will be shown, will encourage the development of electronic communication between and among local governments, businesses, individuals, and federal agency partners.
