About the Challenge

Six-word essays or "flash fiction" is a unique writing style that focuses on sharing a meaningful story or idea in very few words - six, to be exact.

The idea of very short stories began before the digital age or course, but has begun to thrive recently as people share their stories via social networks. Six-word essays are a great way to celebrate the environment and spread awareness.

Write your six words and send them in. EPA is hosting Six Words for the Planet with SMITH Magazine. Submissions will be selected to appear on EPA.gov. Submission is open now until June 30, 2012.
