On January 20, 2011, Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (FPI) posted a notice in the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps). In this notice, FPI announced its proposal to produce Magnetic Induction Lights, FSC 6210, and other energy efficient lighting, on a competitive basis and not use its mandatory source status.

FPI received no comments from any interested party regarding this proposed production, within the 30 days allowed. Therefore, the FPI Board of Directors has approved FPI to produce Magnetic Induction Lights, and other energy efficient lighting, classified in FSC 6210, lighting fixtures, on a competitive basis and without the use of FPI’s mandatory source status.
