GED Plus

If you left high school without a diploma, you can still join the Guard under the Army National Guard GED Plus Program.  GED Plus is a residential school located at The National Guard Professional Education Center, Camp Robinson, North Little Rock, Arkansas. The class length is 22 days, and students experience both a military basic training and structured academic environment.

In order to qualify, you'll need to meet the following requirements:

  • You must score a minimum of 31 on the Armed Forces Qualification Test.
  • You'll need a certified transcript showing completion of the ninth grade.
  • You must have withdrawn from high school for at least six months prior to your date of application for enlistment.
  • You must be 18 years old or older, and not be eligible to return to your local high school to complete your diploma program.
  • You have to be eligible for all enlistment incentives (your recruiter will have current information).
  • You'll need to meet all other enlistment criteria (medical and moral).

If you enlist under the GED Plus Program, you will not be able to participate in the Split Training Option (STO) and may not be shipped for Initial Entry Training Initial Entry Training:
Basic Training.
 until you complete the GED Plus Program.
