  Senator Chris Coons toured the manufacturing site of Baltimore Aircoil Company in Milford, Delaware, on August 7, 2012.

  Candlelight Vigil at the Sikh Center of Delaware - August 2012

  Three days after a shooter killed six people at a Gurudwara in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Senator Coons joined members of the Delaware Sikh community for a candlelight vigil at the Sikh Center of Delaware. The purpose of the vigil was to take a stand against hate and honor the memory of those who died during the shooting.

  USDA Environmental Conservation Press Event

  U.S. Senator Chris Coons joined Senator Tom Carper, state officials, and Seaford cattle farm owners Carlton and Jody Jones to highlight conservation accomplishments in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed on July 30, 2012.

  Michael N. Castle Trail at the C&D Canal

  U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons, and U.S. Rep. John Carney joined federal state and local officials to announce the naming of the Michael N. Castle Trail at the C&D Canal. Monday also marked the groundbreaking of the first phase of the approximately 16-mile long shared-use recreational trail along the north side of the C&D Canal.

  New Castle County Job Fair - June 2012

  A job fair hosted by U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons, and U.S. Representative John Carney on June 25, 2012 drew more than 2,600 job seekers who came to meet with 100 employers at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington. Combined, the employers were hiring for more than 1,700 open positions.

  UD Emergency Poultry Disease Response Program

  Senator Coons spoke to participants in the University of Delaware’s Emergency Poultry Disease Response certificate program on June 18, 2012. The program teaches U.S. and international professionals about preparedness planning, biosecurity and assessment tools, and rapid response techniques and technology, the three critical aspects of successfully managing an outbreak of potentially catastrophic poultry disease.

  On June 18, 2012, Senator Chris Coons toured Atlantis Industries, which manufacturers injected-molded plastics for military, automotive, medical and plumbing applications.

  Speaking at an event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Intellectual Property Center on May 23, 2012 U.S. Senator Chris Coons praised new research that maps the broad impact that intellectual property has on the American economy and called for increased work by Congress to protect the ideas and innovations powering our economic recovery.

  Law Enforcement Caucus event on bulletproof vests

  U.S. Senator Chris Coons hosted a briefing on May 15, 2012 for members of Congress and their staff to learn about and experience wearing bullet-resistant and stab-resistant body armor. The event, “Protection through Innovation: Bullet – and Stab-Resistant Body Armor and Our Nation’s Law Enforcement Officers,” was sponsored by the Senate and House Law Enforcement Caucuses and featured speakers from local and national law enforcement agencies, and the company that manufactures Kevlar, DuPont.

  Sussex County Job Fair - April 2012

  A job fair hosted by U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons, and U.S. Representative John Carney connected 700 job seekers with more than 55 employers at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center in Rehoboth Beach on April 30, 2012. This was the fifth job fair hosted by the Congressional delegation in the past year.

  Bloom Energy Ground-Breaking Ceremony

  Bloom Energy, a creator of of clean, reliable, affordable power, broke ground on a new Bloom Energy Manufacturing Center in Newark, Delaware, on April 30. Located on the 272-acre site formerly occupied by a Chrysler assembly plant, and now owned by the University of Delaware, the Bloom Energy Manufacturing Center is expected to bring hundreds of 21^st century manufacturing jobs to the region.

  Kent County Job Fair - April 2012

  A job fair hosted by U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons, and U.S. Representative John Carney connected 600 job seekers with more than 50 employers at Delaware State University in Dover on April 23, 2012. This was the fourth job fair organized by the Congressional delegation in the past year, and the first of three planned for the spring of 2012.

  Wilmington University Veterans Job Fair - April 2012

  A veterans job fair hosted by Senator Chris Coons and Wilmington University on April 21 drew more than 200 job seekers who had the opportunity to meet with three-dozen employers at Wilmington University in New Castle.
