CCF serves formerly incarcerated women from the NYC area, especially lower income minority women who are under-represented in higher education. The population served by CCF is approximately 65% African American, 25% Hispanic, and 10% Caucasian. Almost all of the Fellows have come from low-income neighborhoods. CCF's work aims to help these individuals succeed academically so they can become role models in the communities to which they return after prison.

The Parole Team serves currently incarcerated women at least two months out from their parole date needing reentry planning assistance and parole advocacy. Advocates also are available to answer any questions from friends and family members regarding the parole hearing.
