Congressman Boehner: Republicans Focusing on Jobs with Action on Energy Bills, Plan to Fully Repeal ObamaCare

Jun 19, 2012

Washington
-

At a press conference with Republican leaders today, Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) highlighted this week’s House action on the Domestic Energy & Jobs Act that would create thousands jobs and help small businesses struggling with high energy prices.  Congressman Boehner also reaffirmed Republicans’ plan to fully repeal any part of ObamaCare that is left intact by the Supreme Court, and replace the law with step-by-step reforms.  Following is the text of Congressman Boehner’s remarks:

“You know, under the president’s economic policies, the American people are struggling with high unemployment, rising gas prices, and stagnant wages.  That’s why the House has passed nearly 30 bills that would help our economy grow and help create more American jobs.  We’ll do more of that this week as the House passes an energy and jobs bill that will put hundreds of thousands of Americans to work and move ourselves toward energy independence.

“You know, in the coming days, the Supreme Court is going to rule on the president’s health care bill which is making…health care costs continue to rise, and making it harder for small businesses to hire new workers.

“Unless the Supreme Court throws out the entire ObamaCare bill, the House will move to repeal all of it, because it is driving up health care costs and making it harder for small employers to hire people.  And then what we’ll do is move in a step-by-step approach to common sense reforms that will lower the cost of health insurance and ensure that the American people can go to the doctor of their choice.”
