I would like to be able to contact someone about Medicaid failure in our state. Our state CHIP program runs as a barrier for treatment
CHIP should help children get health care, not act as a barrier to healthcare as it does in Wisconsin

Waiver amendments should be available on this site
As a long-time “waiver watcher”, I commend you on your efforts to create greater transparency and more meaningful public input on Medicaid waivers. As you know, waivers and amendments to waivers often have a significant impact on the health and well-being of children, families and other individuals. These decisions should be subjected to full public scrutiny - not hidden behind closed doors. You have made an important first step toward the goal of opening the door on what can be an opaque process. It’s important to note that many consequential changes to Medicaid occur through amendments to waivers. In some…

The existence of EPSDT funding for behavioral treatment of children is virtually unknown; can you help parents gain access to EPSDT funding?
Parents throughout the US are largely unaware that EPSDT funding can be used to treat children with serious mental illnesses, including autism, and consequently incur devastating costs that destroy families. They don't know who to contact to obtain EPSDT funding for mental health treatment of their children. EPSDT is "the greatest treatment funding secret ever concealed" and that is just plain wrong.

Remove the practice of Fee-for-Service Productivity
In States like Ohio, community mental health workers get reimbursed by how many hours of service they provide. There are different rates for different types of services. Workers need to produce enough revenues through these services to support their costs to the agency. This approach is not optimal for the workers or the people being served. Will CMS consider a "case rate" or per member per month rate where a flat rate is established for all necessary services and the focus is on client outcomes rather than accumulating billable units.

Use effective capitalism, not HMO and corporate profiteering
Social entrepreneurship is the idea that companies can do well for their customers, their communities, their stakeholders, and the environment. Insurance companies like KanCare only want to do well by their stockholders. Their staff may include good people, but their corporate structure precludes consideration of anyone but their stockholders in the final decision making processes.
In order to make health insurance profitable, companies need to provide the least amount of care possible. This is the single bottom line or the entire system for corporate America. Instead, we should be looking to companies with a triple bottom line that look at…

Share and fund effective mental health solutions like peer support
Mental health care is the biggest driver for the increase in Medicaid expenditures, yet is often not checked for efficient uses of funding. I've outlined 6 costs savings methods that could be implemented overnight with minimal infrastructure that would save all states a huge amount without a need to divert money into insurance company shareholders. Here's the full explanation: http://corinnawest.com/please-cut-our-budget-well-tell-you-how/
The Medicaid website could take a lead in spreading this information to all states and stakeholders. Complete recovery is entirely possible. We know. We've done it.
1. Fund local peer run crisis alternatives NOT state hospitals: 1/10 the cost and…

Bridge services from state to state
Create a bridge for those in need of transferring from one state to another, and stop the denials this puts a hardship on the individual and family as well as the nursing home, as it did for my Mother who is mentally ill and her health declined and we had to move her closer to a relative. State of TN denied her services and denied our appeal. Where she was already approved in the State of FL. There are 3 1/2 months of bills that are going unpaid.

How much is paid to each vendor of Health Services by School?
I am on the School Committee, and I am interesting in knowing the amount of money paid to my school district, by school for services provided by outside vendors. Where may I find this information?

Please add a place where people can enter their situation to see whether or not they might qualify for Medicaid.
I find I can't tell whether my father would qualify. There are no "check off" type lists. Also can't find any phone numbers to call to ask questions.

Make it work. I can not access copies of 1915(c) waivers. The old site was MUCH better.

individuals with intellectual disabilities should be able to transfer their waiver from state to state
illegal aliens can go anywhere in the US but people with intellectual disabilities are prisoners of the state they receive the waiver funding in
