Assistant Secretary visits U.S. Army installations in Europe

PENTAGON, Washington DC ( Sept. 7, 2012) - - The Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment, the Honorable Katherine Hammack, is touring U.S. Army installations in Germany and Italy.
During her ten-day visit she will observe U.S. Army transformation efforts in Europe, and tour LEED facilities and Europe's net zero installations.
Hammack, accompanied by Sgt. Maj. Tracey Anbiya, senior enlisted advisor, and Paul D. Cramer, acting deputy assistant secretary of the Army for installations, housing and partnerships, departed Washington Sept. 5, 2012 en-route to the U.S. Army Garrison, Wiesbaden, Germany.
Other visits include stops at installations in Baumholder, Stuttgart, Grafenwohr, Garmisch, Kaiserslautern, Baden Wurttemberg, Bamgberg, Schweinfurt, Ansbach, and Vicenza.
On Sept. 11, 2012, she will take part in a European Energy Conference. It is anticipated that during her keynote address to the 100 conference participants, she will provide the Army perspective on energy conservation and Net Zero initiatives, both current and future. Conference attendees include Garrison Commanders, Installation Energy Managers, US Army Corps of Engineer's personnel, German utility companies, industry vendors and German energy consultants.
