The CFPB: Applying the lessons of the financial crisis

By

This Thursday afternoon, we’re hosting an event in Philadelphia where Raj Date and local leaders will discuss the lessons learned from the mortgage market meltdown and how those lessons can be applied to the consumer bureau’s work moving forward. The CFPB is the first agency with the primary responsibility of making consumer financial markets work for American consumers, responsible providers, and the economy as a whole.

We want the public to be part of it.

If you’re in the Philadelphia area, we hope you’ll join us. To attend, please email your full name and any organizational affiliation to sept15@consumerfinance.gov

Raj Date is the Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury for the CFPB, and he’ll be introduced by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. He’ll also participate in a discussion moderated by Philadelphia Inquirer Columnist Jeff Gelles.

If anything is learned from the past meltdown I will be surprised. I think we may be in for a even bigger fall very soon. Hope I am wrong. http://21stcenturymarketinginc.com/

What lessons will we learn from this financial crisis and will we eventually slip back to our old ways?
