    About
  1. I had the privilege of spending time with Ambassador Chris Stevens when I visited Libya last month. His service and dedication will be greatly missed.

  2. I had the opportunity to join Ambassador Stevens last month for an Iftar dinner with a number of newly elected parliamentarians. They were excited about building a democracy, creating a vibrant economy, and restoring fundamental human rights for the Libyan people. And Ambassador Stevens was as excited at those prospects as they were.
  3. Today, our nation grieves the loss of the 2,977 who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We will never forget them, nor the sacrifices of those who have gone on to fight to defend our nation in their honor, and our hearts and prayers continue to go out to all of their families and friends.
  4. I had the "greater" pleasure of touring the Graeter's plant to learn more about their unique approach to ice cream production and discuss legislative issues affecting the ice cream industry. Thanks to Richard Graeter, President and CEO (on the left), and Robert Graeter, Vice President and Owner (on the right).

  5. Rep. Sam Graves, Chairman of the Small Business Committee, says in his op-ed for The Hill that, "American workers giving up on employment is cause for alarm, not celebration"
  6. The new jobs report released this morning is not the good news our economy needed. According to the National Journal, "The two-tenths of a percentage point drop in the unemployment rate from July's 8.3 percent rate was not a sign of hidden ...
strength but instead reflected an exodus of job seekers from the labor market." Washington must work together to cut the red tape that is stifling our small business owners from growing to get our economy back on track.

  7. I am so thankful to be spending this week in our District talking with constituents. This morning I met with Amy Barron of the Arthritis Association. If you have an issue you'd like me to know about, please feel free to either message me privately on Facebook or call my Cincinnati office at 513-684-2723.

  8. I was pleased to meet with the family of Charles Pataki and award them with his Medals of Honor which he earned as a tank commander in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a POW in Germany for 13 months. After the war, he became a Post Office employee, where he retired. Charles passed away earlier this year. We thank him and his family for his service to our country.
