Introducing the New National Service Knowledge Network

You may have noticed some changes at the Resource Center. The Corporation for National and Community Service and ETR Associates are busy redesigning and reorganizing the presentation and content of the training and technical assistance services currently on the Resource Center website into the new National Service Knowledge Network site.

Yes, we have a new name! The National Service Knowledge Network is a place where CNCS grantees, members, partners, staff, and volunteers can work together to share information and resources related to national service.

The name isn't the only thing that's new. Knowledge Network features include discussion boards, content sharing, online courses, promising practices and program models, profiles, private messaging, social media integration, and more. What hasn't changed is the training and technical assistance content you have come to rely on over the years.

Our first Knowledge Network community focuses on Veterans and Military Families. This is an online space to share and develop practices, tools, models, and interventions that will:

  • Lead to strategic partnerships that engage and retain veterans in service (especially to other veterans)
  • Improve the quality of service to veterans and military families, particularly in employment and housing
  • Strengthen the network of national service veterans and military families projects across the country

More Knowledge Network communities are planned in alignment with the focus areas of the CNCS strategic plan, as well as for specific national service programs and groups.

Over the next year you will notice these additional communities, as well as new resources supporting CNCS National Performance Measures and other initiatives. Some older resources and materials will be archived for access as useful historical materials and others will be moved to be housed on other CNCS websites.

If you have questions about specific resources or materials, please feel free to contact us at 800-860-2684, or e-mail us. We look forward to working with you all as we develop these new and exciting online spaces to share knowledge and strengthen national service.
