CMAOC Interactive Casualty Training

Eligibility for CMAOC Online Casualty Training

ATTENTION: CMAOC online casualty training courses are for annual recertification only.

For initial certification, all Casualty Notification Officers (CNOs)/Casualty Assistance Officers (CAOs) must attend the combined CNO/CAO two-day in-person classroom instruction as coordinated by their servicing Casualty Assistance Center (CAC).

Casualty training certifications expire after 12 months. If more than one year has elapsed since participation in either the initial training or the online recertification training, CNOs and CAOs can only recertify by attending the in-person classroom training.

Computer Configuration and Set-up Requirements

  • Verify local installation of version 9.0.115.0 (or later) of Adobe Flash player. (Visit Flash Player Version to find the version of your current player.) The latest version of Adobe Flash Player may be downloaded from Adobe.com
  • Verify that you are using a recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) browser. Click "Help" at the top of the browser, then click "About Internet Explorer" to view browser version. Version 7.0 or higher is required for machines running Windows Vista and 6.0 or higher is required for Windows XP and 2003. Microsoft products and information may be found at Microsoft.com.
  • Minimum hardware requirements are an Intel® Pentium® II 450MHz or faster processor (or equivalent) and 128MB of RAM.

Navigation Instructions

  • You are permitted to start the course, log off at any point during the course, and then return at another time to complete the training. The next time you log in to the training, click on the CONTINUE button on the home screen, and you will return automatically to the last slide you viewed.
  • To navigate from one slide to another, hit the NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons in the lower right corner of the screen. The NEXT button will remain deactivated until you view all content on each slide. After you view all content on the slide, the NEXT button will be activated and you will be able to continue to the next slide.
  • Slides contain video, graphics, and text along with narration. Videos can be controlled by the buttons built into the video player. Narration can be paused and resumed using the PAUSE and PLAY buttons in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.
  • Throughout the training, you'll find questions that check your knowledge about the material you have just reviewed. Answer these questions to the best of your ability. They are not a part of the final test for certification.
  • At the end of the course, you must achieve a score of 70 percent or higher on a 25-question quiz to receive certification. You will have two attempts to pass the quiz. If you do not pass the quiz after two attempts, you will be required to return to the classroom training.

Troubleshooting Steps

  • From your IE Browser menu, click "Tools," then "Internet Options."
  • Under the "General" tab, below the "Temporary Internet files" heading, click "Delete Files."
