CRSC Ambassador Corner

Mission

Educate the Army community about the CRSC program using a high level, proactive outreach method.

Vision
Create a network of volunteers within the Army community with a desire to educate retired veterans about the CRSC program, increasing eligible claims and knowledge of the program through outreach.

Welcome to the CRSC Ambassador Corner!  Here, you will find tools to help you spread the word about Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) to fellow veterans. The need to educate veterans about this benefit is a high priority. With your assistance we hope to reach all potentially eligible veterans so they can receive the compensation they deserve.

Do you have an event coming up that CRSC would enhance? CRSC Ambassador Rosters with specific contact information are available to current CRSC Ambassadors only. If you are planning an event and would like to have an Ambassador present to educate and/or assist retired veterans in your area with the claims process, please call the Ambassador Coordinator at (502)613-8949 or (502)613-8923. Please include the date, time, location, audience, contact info, and other helpful event information in your e-mail. This will be sent to your local Ambassador and they will contact you with their availability.

About the CRSC Ambassador Program

What is the CRSC Ambassador Program?
The CRSC Ambassador program provides a voice for CRSC within the veterans’ community educating retired veterans about the CRSC benefit.
Ambassadors assist veterans in their communities by providing information and education on this important benefit. With your help, we can get the word out to veterans all over the world and ensure all who have sacrificed so much for their country receive the compensation they deserve through CRSC. By becoming an Ambassador you can assist veterans with the claim process to obtain this valuable benefit.

Who can become a CRSC Ambassador?
Anyone can become a CRSC Ambassador. Most often, Ambassadors are retired veterans and those who have unique and intimate knowledge about the benefit. Most importantly, Ambassadors have a determination to make all eligible veterans aware of CRSC.

What are the CRSC Ambassador roles and responsibilities?
Spread the word! CRSC Ambassadors create awareness and educate potential claimants on the CRSC claim process. Talk to everyone you know, friends, colleagues, family members and tell them about CRSC. Use the tools on this site to provide you with the information you need to talk about CRSC and assist in the claim process. Attend local events in your community or surrounding areas.

How much time will this take me?
All services are volunteer; therefore there is no minimum number of events or outreach hours that are required. The orientation call is mandatory and requires one hour to complete. Ambassadors will be offered regular training after that and other opportunities to stay active. The training, while extremely beneficial, is not mandatory. Time spent performing educational briefings and claims assistance will be up to the individual Ambassador.

What should I expect as an Ambassador?
You will have the opportunity to network with other Ambassadors in your area and around the country through regularly scheduled conference calls. You receive on-going and up to date program information in the Ambassador Quarterly Newsletter and spread the word about CRSC in your community. The CRSC Program Office will also reach out to you when opportunities to assist veterans in your area are brought to our attention.

What types of resources are available to Ambassadors?
Once you sign up to become an Ambassador, you will have many resources available to you. Our tools are constantly evaluated for their usefulness and accuracy per changing program guidance. Current resources include:

  • Official Ambassador name tag
  • Official Ambassador Certificate
  • CRSC Ambassador e-Toolkit with briefings, Ambassador Coded Applications, outreach documents, and more – all to assist you with your efforts to spread the word in your community!
  • POC within the CRSC Program office to assist you along the way
  • Regular training via toll-free conference calls

Will I get compensated?
No, you will get the personal satisfaction of helping a retired veteran submit a successful claim, ensuring the veteran has the compensation they have earned through their service to our country.

All time and services provided to potential recipients by CRSC Ambassadors are volunteer; therefore an Ambassador can not charge for these services or collect payment in any way.

How do I apply?
Fill out a CRSC Ambassador Application (1 Dec 11) and submit it via e-mail to usarmy.knox.hrc.mbx.tagd-crsc-claims@mail.mil or via fax ATTN: CRSC Ambassador Program to 502-613-9550.
