Broadening Opportunity Programs

Broadening Opportunity Programs (B.O.P.) are governed by AR 621-7, Army Fellowships and Scholarships and AR 621-1, Training of Military Personnel at Civilian Institutions. Information about specific programs is linked below.

If your studies require you to go Temporary Duty (TDY) funded by a government agency, please forward the requested information IAW with the TDY Format.

If your studies require you to go Temporary Duty (TDY) funded by a NON-government agency, please forward the requested information IAW with the TDY Format.

If your studies require you to go Permissive TDY (PTDY) please forward the required information IAW the PTDY Format.

If you are required to submit a Financial Statement, please forward the requested information IAW the Financial Statement Format.

If you obtain a degree from a foreign university, in order to place that degree onto your "official record" it must be evaluated to our U.S. system. For a list of Independent Evaluation Services go to http://www.naces.org/members.htm. You may be charged a fee for this service, and the Army is not responsible for any fees incurred.

If you intend to apply for a fellowship or scholarship that is not listed below, you must forward your request to the U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC), IAW the Application Procedure.
