Good Catch
The Transportation Security Officers at Newark Liberty International Airport made an interesting discovery yesterday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m., when they found a knife disguised as a credit card, concealed in an outbound passenger's wallet. The artfully concealed knife was detected by the TSA officer operating the x-ray machine, despite being made to look like a credit card. The credit card knife was sandwiched between several real credit cards in the passenger's wallet, and placed in a carry-on during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.
Thanks to their training, effective technology, and on-the-job focus, the TSA Officers were able to detect this item without any impact to airport operations.
