Wings of Blue Parachute TeamAir Force Academy performing units consist mainly of Academy cadets with one unit of active-duty Airmen. Whether performing military honors, precision drill, singing, music, showing the school mascot, flying or parachuting, these groups of volunteers represent a commitment to excellence in their performances. Each unit has won national recognition for outstanding performances, and units excite audiences with their skills and enthusiasm.

These units have participated at various events for schools, veterans, civic and youth groups, air shows and other venues. A limited schedule for performing units is formed from mid-August through mid-May around Academy classes and training requirements.

Air Force Academy performing units include:

-- Wings of Blue Parachute Team
-- Sailplane demonstration teams
-- Cadet Drum and Bugle Corps
-- Cadet Sabre Drill Team
-- Cadet Honor Guard
-- Cadet Honor Guard Sabre Drill Team
-- Cadet Rifle Drill Team
-- Cadet Falconers
-- Cadet choirs
-- Cadet Chorale
-- Cadet Academy Singers
-- Base Honor Guard

All contact or coordination must be done directly between the primary requester or organization and the public affairs office. No requests through a commercial services agency or commercial intermediary will be accepted. To request a copy of a performing unit's packet and request form, contact us using one of the options on the right side of this page.

Information packets contain:

-- Restrictions: Air Force regulations prohibit the use of Academy personnel to participate in some events under a variety of circumstances.
-- Performing unit information: Each unit's section explains what the performing unit does and can provide during an event.
-- Host requirements: The performing units do not charge a fee to perform (no honorariums), however, host requirements listed with each unit are what your organization must agree to provide to sponsor the unit. For example, requesters must normally agree to provide transportation, room and board, an area in which to perform, etc.

The Air Force Academy is a military school that places emphasis on academics, military and athletic training and character development, all of which take up much of our cadets' time. This structure can differ from many public and private colleges and universities and may affect the cadets' availability.

During the school year, daily class schedules, school breaks, cadet military training, graduation or base restrictions will take precedence over requests, so these units may not be available to perform at your event. Requests are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Requests should be submitted at least three weeks in advance of the performance date; sooner is even better. Some units may need 60 days or more depending on their needs. Late submissions are less likely to be approved.

The information packets will show that many cadet units are unavailable during the summer. They temporarily disband during this time until the start of the next school year, so they cannot take requests during the summer. School and military training have priority, so they cannot make decisions on requests until after they review their fall semester schedules in early August. This applies to their spring schedules in early January as well.

The public affairs office is the scheduling point of contact. Do not contact the performing units directly about scheduling a performance.
