The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) established 62 Regional Extension Centers (RECs) across the United States. RECs are equipped with the personnel and resources to support and advise providers in all phases of the electronic health record (EHR) adoption and implementation process, including the readiness assessment phase. Depending on your REC's business model, your REC may provide free or reduced-price support to your practice/hospital/health center as you conduct your readiness assessment.Obtain contact information for your local REC.
