Announcement

This Social Security Benefit Application has moved. Please follow the instructions below to remove the old bookmark and access the new URL.

To access the new URL:

Type the following URL into your address bar:
For Retirement benefits application: http://www.socialsecurity.gov/retireonline/
For Disability benefits application: http://www.socialsecurity.gov/disabilityonline/

How to remove a bookmark?

Internet Explorer

  1. Go to Favorites on the toolbar OR open the Favorites menu
  2. Select 'Organize Favorites...'
  3. Right-click on the Benefit Application bookmark file
  4. Select 'Delete' in the menu that appears
  5. Select 'Yes' when it asks if you're sure to send the file to the Recycle Bin

Repeat steps 3-5 until all Benefit Application bookmark files have been deleted.

Firefox

  1. Select 'Bookmarks' button from the file bar
  2. Scroll down to the Benefit Application bookmark
  3. Hold your mouse over the bookmark and right-click
  4. From the drop-down menu that appears, select the 'Delete' button

    5. Repeat steps 1-4 until all Benefit Application bookmark files have been deleted.

How to remove cache?

Internet Explorer

  • Go to Tools
  • Select 'Internet Options'
  • Select 'Delete files'
  • Check the box for 'Delete all offline content'
  • Click OK

Firefox

  • Go to Tools
  • Select 'Clear Private Data'
  • Check the box for 'Cache'
  • Click 'Clear Private Data Now'
