Transitioning from FGDC Metadata to ISO Metadata

This course presents the basics of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) compliant metadata. It provides the content and structure of the ISO 191** series metadata in detail, along with methods for transitioning to ISO from FGDC metadata. Students receive hands-on metadata record creation and validation training with a variety of available software tools. Trainers may customize the training course based on any organization's specific requirements. Designed as a day and a half session, training managers can compress or expand the course to meet user needs. Organizations can also schedule training for individuals for specific NCDDC-related projects. Prerequisite: Introduction to Geospatial Metadata OR a working knowledge of the FGDC CSDGM.
