U.S. Marshals Task Force Takes Another Sex Offender Off the Street

Honolulu, HI – On July 25, 2011 members of the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force arrested Andrew K. Hoolulu, age 62, who was on probation for failing to register as a sex offender.  At approximately 11:30 am Deputy U.S. Marshals and Deputy Sheriff’s arrived at Hoolulu’s residence in Wahiawa and arrested him without incident.  Hoolulu was wanted on a $20k HOPE (Hawaii's Opportunity Probation with Enforcement) Probation warrant.  Hoolulu is a registered sex offender and classified as a “Repeat Covered Offender.” Hoolulu has been previously convicted of Failure To Comply With Covered Offender Registration Requirements, Sex Assault 2 and Sex Assault 3.  

Hoolulu was booked into Oahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC) pending court appearance.  Annually, investigations carried out by the U.S. Marshals result in the apprehension of approximately 34,000 federal fugitives.
