U.S. Marshals Bring International Fugitive to Justice |
Albuquerque, NM – July 8, 2011, Deputy United
States Marshals extradited international fugitive Carlos Alberto Carpio-Morales,
to Albuquerque, NM, from Mexico City, Mexico. Carpio-Morales, 24, had been a
fugitive from justice since 2007. Carpio-Morales wanted on outstanding felony
warrants for Attempted Murder, Child Abuse, Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault on a
Household Member (Deadly Weapon), and Battery on a Household Member. The U.S.
Marshals Service (USMS) working with the Albuquerque Police Department and the
NM Attorney General’s Office coordinated the apprehension and extradition of
Carpio-Morales. United States Marshal Conrad Candelaria said, “One of our
primary goals is to assist State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies not only
with the investigation and apprehension of dangerous fugitives but to ensure
that no matter where they flee, state to state or to foreign countries we will
find them and bring them back to stand before the courts and answer to their
charges.” Additional information about the U.S. Marshals can be found at http://www.usmarshals.gov. #### |
