| U.S. Marshals Capture Triple Homicide Escapee |

BLANCHARD, Okla. – On Sunday, the McClain County
Sheriff’s Office contacted the U.S. Marshals to request immediate assistance
following the escape of Shaun Bosse, who was wanted for triple murder of his
girlfriend, her 8-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter in 2008. Bosse had
allegedly stabbed the girlfriend and son and then set fire to the trailer
where the girl slept.
At approximately 10 a.m. Sunday, Bosse had overpowered a jailer, stolen a vehicle, cell phone, and flashlight and had been unaccounted for several hours. The stolen vehicle was located, abandoned, and police received a confirmed sighting at a local retail store here where the subject grew up and still has family in the area. A perimeter was established around the city, and all vehicles leaving the area were searched and occupants interviewed. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force responded and began interviewing family members and childhood friends who continued to discuss a local pond where Bosse would camp and play as a child. Through the investigation this area was located and a field search was started by the task force. After walking for approximately 30 minutes, a white male matching the description of Bosse was observed near a pond. Task force members were approximately 300 yards away and began advancing through the tree line to surround the subject. He was given commands to walk toward the Deputies with his hands up. He ducked briefly into the tree line, but seconds later began following commands. Bosse was handcuffed and searched and identified himself as Shaun when asked his identity. He was transported to the command post without incident.Bosse was returned to the custody of the McClain County Sheriff to await his murder trial. Additional charges are pending for the escape. |
