You may request confidentiality for your complaint. The IG Act provides that the OIG will not disclose
the identity of the individuals who come forward with information without the consent of that individual,
unless the IG determines that such disclosure is unavoidable during the course of an investigation. You
may also choose to remain anonymous. However, we encourage you to provide us with your contact information.
The ability to gather additional information from Hotline callers is often key to effectively pursuing
allegations in the event additional questions arise as the OIG evaluates or pursues your allegations.
