Evaluating Family-Centered Services
Family-centered services focus on maintaining the safety and well-being of all family members and providing strengths-based, culturally sensitive, community-based services. These services are intended to prevent maltreatment and improve chances for family stability, successful reunification, and permanency by strengthening the family and improving family functioning.
Numerous evaluation studies have sought to determine the effectiveness of such programs in protecting children and preventing other, more costly services such as foster care.
