The Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center(LAACC) is part of the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS). The Clinic provides comprehensive ambulatory care focusing on primary care in medicine, the mental health and behavioral sciences, neurology, rehabilitation, dentistry, and ambulatory surgery. The ACC serves veterans from varied socioeconomic levels in Metropolitan Los Angeles. Preventive medicine, diagnostic, surgical, and rehabilitative services are delivered under a primary care model where patients know their providers and are followed by them. The emphasis is on continuity to assure quality of care and to reduce the need for inpatient hospitalization. The health care delivery mission is complemented by education and research tailored top the ambulatory care setting. All of the specialized diagnostic and inpatient services available at partner facilities of VAGLAHS and VISN 22 are available upon referral. Access to care is enhanced by the operation of the Neighborhood Health Clinic, a community-based outpatient clinic in East Los Angeles. Two Veteran Readjustment Counseling Center's also complement core services at LAACC. The ACC is a training site for postgraduate medical education through an academic affiliation with the University of Southern California.
