Current staff limitations prevent refuge lands from being accessible outside of designated open houses, events and educational programs. Plans to extend public use opportunities are under evaluation.

Acceptable outdoor uses include fishing, nature photography, wildlife observation, and boating. The Refuge Hunt Plan is pending final approval at this time. Implementation of the hunt program is anticipated in summer 2012.

Prohibited uses: Camping, Fires, Off-road vehicles, Fireworks, Spotlighting. Pets must remain on a leash at all times. Bicycles are not permitted for use on unpaved refuge trails.
