Wilmington Resident Sentenced to 27 Years in Federal Prison for Being an Armed Career Criminal
LOS ANGELES — A Wilmington resident who was arrested by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for trafficking narcotics while armed was sentenced today to 324 months in federal prison.
Jason Nagel Dulay, 32, was sentenced by United States District Judge S. James Otero.
Dulay pleaded guilty in February to possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, and two counts of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. Dulay was arrested in 2010 after a man was fatally shot during an attempted robbery in Dulay’s room at a Harbor Gateway hotel where he had been stashing firearms, ammunition, and methamphetamine.
Unfortunately someone died as of a result of the criminal activity that Dulay participated in, and his 27–year sentence demonstrates that we will not tolerate placing the community at risk
, says John A. Torres, special agent in charge, ATF, Los Angeles Field Division. The residents of South Bay can breathe easier knowing Dulay will spend a considerable amount of time behind bars for his criminal conduct.
