Take advantage of the variety of resources and opportunities available to current and past participants in Corporation for National and Community Service programs.

Visit these program sites for detailed information about resources available to volunteers and members. If you're a former AmeriCorps member, you'll also find resources for alumni.

Senior Corps: Senior Corps offers a network of programs that tap the rich experience, skills and talents of older citizens to meet community challenges.

AmeriCorps: Through its programs, AmeriCorps provides opportunities for Americans to make an ongoing, intensive commitment to service.

  • AmeriCorps State and National: AmeriCorps State and National offers a broad range of service programs that engage thousands of Americans in intensive service to meet critical community needs.
  • AmeriCorps VISTA: AmeriCorps VISTA provides members full-time to community organizations and public agencies to create and expand programs that build capacity and ultimately bring low-income individuals and communities out of poverty.
  • AmeriCorps NCCC: The AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps is a full-time residential program for men and women aged 18-24 that strengthens communities while developing leaders through direct, team-based national and community service.

Incorporating Service Into the Rest of Your Life

Who says program members and volunteers can't serve themselves while serving the community? Current and past members and volunteers have a great opportunity to take their next step—whether it is career, education, or continued service. Some move on to volunteer opportunities on their own and others come back for additional service opportunities.

Live the Value of Service Every Day

It's not just about joining a program or getting involved in formal volunteer work. You can live your commitment to service through small acts every day. Here are just a few:

  • Be a good neighbor
  • Speak up for others
  • Be an optimist
  • Be a good listener
  • Do something nice for someone every day
  • Share your good fortune
  • Be open to the joy of giving of yourself
  • Invest your time in doing good
  • Don't wait for others to step up to the plate
  • Dream of a better world—and make your dreams come true

Read the National Service blog and learn what it is like to serve in one of the Corporation-sponsored programs, and what some of our members and volunteers are doing now.
