Conference attendees discussed quality of life issues, along with international and interagency partnering. Admiral Stavridis says there are several initiatives being worked on at EUCOM.

  One of the ways the U.S. military is building the Afghan Army is through Observer Mentor Liaison Teams, or OMLETS. At the Joint Multinational Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany, the Latvian Army and the Michigan National Guard are training together and building bonds.

NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Admiral James Stavridis, recently paid a visit to Portugal to see how counter-drug operations are conducted. He talked to AFN about plans to help stem the flow of drugs into Europe.
