Podcast #3: "Endoscopic and Surgical Removal of Neodymium Magnets in Pediatric Patients"
NASPGHAN members are reporting an increase in prevalence of neodymium magnet ingestion in pediatric patients. These powerful magnets may cause bowel perforations if not managed carefully. Due to this emerging health issue and severe impact these magnets may cause, NASPGHAN along with the NASPGHAN Foundation has developed a brief educational podcast series. Our experts discuss accurate diagnosis, endoscopic management, and surgical management. Our panel includes four pediatric gastroenterologists, a pediatric surgeon, and an emergency physician.
