Time spent in arts instruction in school

As part of the 2008 arts assessment, school principals were asked how often eighth-grade students receive arts instruction in school. The text of the actual question is below.

Findings

  • In 2008, fifty-seven percent of eighth-graders were reported to be receiving instruction in music at least 3 or 4 times a week compared to 43 percent in 1997.
