The Acquisition Professional
A career in Federal acquisitions is an exciting opportunity to
contribute to innovative new projects in support of the infrastructure
of the U.S. Government. AQD's acquisition professionals support
advances in information technology, research and development, and
aviation, as well as the procurement of the goods and services needed to
operate the Federal Government of the United States.
The acquisitions profession is highly competitive with excellent growth
potential and a high demand for experienced personnel. Contract
Specialists can enter the field with a Bachelor's Degree and/or 24
business credits from an accredited college or university. Experience
in Federal acquisitions is highly desirable, but AQD also participates
in internship programs and other entry level and developmental
opportunities.
Contract Specialists at the GS-13 level and above must have both a
college degree and 24 business credits. Additional positions in AQD
span a wide range of Federal careers including program management,
business development, and customer support opportunities. AQD also has
opportunities for auditors in the Indirect Rates Negotiation office in
Sacramento.
