Fausto Barragan, the principal of North Terrace Elementary here, high-fives students at the school's grand re-opening ceremony on their new and improved campus, Aug. 31. In addition to celebrating the renovated school's re-opening, students and faculty also commemorated their new designation of California Distinguished School for 2012. North Terrace re-opened its doors after being closed for renovations for more than a year. Representatives from Oceanside Unified School District, as well as Col. David Terando, chief of staff for Marine Corps Installations-West, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, were on hand to celebrate with the children and faculty.
