About the Commission The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) is a Congressional support agency that provides independent, nonpartisan policy and data analysis on payment, access and other issues affecting Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). MACPAC’s charge is to provide objective advice to the Congress on Medicaid and CHIP, the federal government’s largest programs providing health care coverage to low-income individuals. Position Summary Research assistants have knowledge of state and federal Medicaid and CHIP policy and program issues. Research assistants are familiar with qualitative and quantitative health policy research sources and methods, and assist with research projects on and information gathering for several Medicaid and CHIP policy issues to support Commission meetings and reports. Research assistants are expected to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, balance multiple project responsibilities, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Education Requirements Completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in public policy, public health, public policy, public health, public administration, statistics, economics, or other related field.
