The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) is seeking a full-time, one-year paid Policy and Research intern. MACPAC internship positions are intellectually challenging and require individual initiative and an ability to monitor and report on current health policy events and issues related to Medicaid and CHIP. About the Commission MACPAC is a Congressional support agency that provides independent, nonpartisan policy and data analysis on payment, access and other issues affecting Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). MACPAC’s charge is to provide objective advice to the Congress on Medicaid and CHIP, the federal government’s largest programs providing health care coverage to low-income individuals. Position Summary Policy and Research interns have knowledge of state and federal Medicaid and CHIP policy and program issues and assist with research projects on and information gathering for several Medicaid and CHIP policy issues to support Commission meetings and reports. Policy and Research interns are expected to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, balance multiple project responsibilities, and have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
