I was finally able to spend some time with the data available with the beta electricity browser. Very nice - and I can see I will be visiting regularly for data. Well done -

I’m trying to download a .csv version of the data from the Electricity Data Browser. When I change the data set to “Plant Level Data” and then try to download the List of Plants for All Fuels, United States, All Sectors, I get this error message: The response from the server contained duplicate headers. This problem is generally the result of a misconfigured website or proxy. Only the website or proxy administrator can fix this issue. Error 349 (net::ERR_RESPONSE_HEADERS_MULTIPLE_CONTENT_DISPOSITION): Multiple distinct Content-Disposition headers received. This is disallowed to protect against HTTP response splitting attacks. Please let me know what I can do to download this data.

This is a great resource. Today is my first time using it, but I shall return when I need this time of information.

Field definitions should be added with the mouse roll over.

This is a great addition to EIA's site. I look forward to seeing it expanded and made final. I may have overlooked it, but is there a way to create my own criteria for graphing, other than selecting individual lines of data in a pre-generated table?

Good work, folks. I have a question-- are you planning to implement a more user-friendly format for viewing utility-specific data from the EIA-861 forms? Historical data tables would be especially appreciated, as I believe the only way to get historical data currently is to download and manipulate every annual report.

Net Generation data browser does not include Nuclear nor Renewables; seem like pretty major sources to leave out.
04/22/2012 - Florida, United States
Please provide pie charts for electricity generation by source. One of the most interesting statistics in U.S. energy, is the proportion of Coal vs. Natural Gas vs. Nuclear vs. Renewables in our national grid mix.

Very nice and useful data browser. Just the thing I was looking for.
04/12/2012 - California, United States
Fantastic site - well maintained, great interface and easy to download complex data sets from. This is an invaluable tool that I use almost daily. Thank you so much for the improvements! If only all government websites were as user friendly and complete...

The video explains it, but maybe the graphing buttons should default to "ON" for a relevant data series the user selected under the "Filter/Order" instead of only graphing the first item. Some will still want access to data tables for Excel, but this tool will be excellent.

I would like to see more geographic data detailed maybe to the census block level
04/09/2012 - North Carolina, United States
i love it!

I use your site frequently enough that it is important to me that I be able to find what I need quickly. Yet I use it infrequently enough that I haven't even learned where to find data from the last set of changes. Constant change is not helpful.

The Safari browser (for Mac users) doesn't seem to work very well. For example, the pop-up for the filter order has the data hidden by the background color. Probably not a high priority, since I can just use Firefox on the same machine.
04/03/2012 - District of Columbia, United States
Very nice tool. With IE 8, the drop down boxes on the top left do not show the full descriptions, but it is OK in Firefox. I like the Filter box, especially when you can change the order of the dimensions. Can we have a button for "Select All"?
04/03/2012 - Michigan, United States
Very nice. Is there a mean to get utilities sales and revenue info at a corporate or holding company level within EIA? For example AEP has numerous subs each of which are listed individually -- how can one aggregate them within EIA. Thanks

Grayson #377 - the MWHs aren't correct for the individual plant.
04/03/2012 - Virginia, United States
How do we know if a four to six digit published total might have a relative standard error of 40%? Is standard error or revision information or any other QA info available in this system?
04/03/2012 - Maryland, United States
The Electricity Data Browser is very impressive. Really well done visually and intuitively! We should model all query systems like this. In firefox, the graph icons don't appear in the table, only IE. And placing the words 'Timespan' and 'Period' under or over the controls would make this area look less crowded
04/03/2012 - Pennsylvania, United States
This is great! Let's get it out of Beta and onto the official site. John
04/03/2012 - Georgia, United States
Expand the dropdown menu horizontally under Change Data Set:, View a pre-generated table, Historical Reports, and Projections so that the menu items can be read entirely.
04/03/2012 - United States
I was confused by the slider icons which I mistook for adjacent left & right arrow buttons. Clicking the arrows didn't scroll the screen, but sliding them works fine

The layout could be significantly improved. First, tried to "Build your own table." The words appear at the top left, but the filters are on the bottom of the page--please move all filters to the top. I tried to build my table by selecting from the Insight & Data sction (because to my eye it was in the same section as is "Build Your Own Table"). Would rather be directed to other pages than to deal with tiny pop-up windows that one has to close before moving onto other Web page activities.
