The ENERGY STAR specification for External Power Supplies (EPS) and End-Use Products Using External Power Supplies (EUP) were sunset on December 31, 2010. The ENERGY STAR label is no longer available for these categories. Manufacturers were required to cease using the ENERGY STAR name and mark in association with all products manufactured after December 31, 2010.

International Efficiency Marking Protocol for External Power Supplies
The International Efficiency Marking Protocol for External Power Supplies remains in effect. This protocol provides a system for power supply manufacturers to designate the minimum efficiency performance of an external power supply, so that finished product manufacturers and government representatives can easily determine a unit's efficiency.
