Welcome

The Law Collection of the Commerce Departmental Library is located in the northwest corner of HCHB on the first floor next to the Business & Trade Collection. Comprised of both print and electronic resources, the collection includes historic legislative histories, Congressional hearings, reports, prints and documents, Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register, treaties, journals, and much more. The Library collects current legal material to support the work of the Office of the General Counsel in the areas of interest to the Commerce Department, including international trade, environmental issues, and intellectual property. Research assistance and interlibrary loan services are available to all Commerce employees.

Online Resources

The Library has many electronic resources available to Commerce employees in HCHB, as well as Lexis and Westlaw access via ID and password. Training is held regularly, and individual assistance is available upon request.

The Commerce Departmental Library is a Federal Depository, which means that it is open to the general public between 9am and 4pm, and the online catalog is searchable from outside of the building. Library staff is available between 8:30am and 5pm, and the Library can be made accessible to Commerce employees after hours, if needed.
