Connecticut Energy Assistance Program
Program Description
The Connecticut Department of Social Services offers the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program to provide heating assistance for Connecticut residents by helping to offset the winter heating costs of eligible households. The goal is to ensure that eligible Connecticut residents do not have their health jeopardized by the inability to meet heating needs. On behalf of eligible households, the winter heating assistance pays for such heating sources as oil, natural gas, electricity, propane, kerosene, coal and wood. Homeowners and renters may apply.The following are programs that are supported by the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program. The programs that fall under this umbrella are:
- Contingency Heating Assistance Program
- Crisis Assistance Program
- Safety Net Services
- Refugee Assistance Program
