Klobuchar Highlights Efforts of Minnesota Businesses to Strengthen Local Economies

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar today highlighted the efforts of Minnesota businesses to strengthen local economies. During a speech to the National Restaurant Association, Klobuchar outlined her competitive agenda for America, which includes efforts to promote education, increase exports, and cut red tape for businesses. Klobuchar also highlighted the success of Minnesota-based companies including Buffalo Wild Wings, Champs, and Pizza Luce, who were in attendance at the event. House Speaker John Boehner also spoke at the event.

“America is built by small businesses with big ideas—ideas often forged over a cup of coffee or a slice of pie, served fresh at the restaurant down the street,”Klobuchar said. “These Minnesota businesses are great examples of the big ideas that have succeeded in creating innovative products and strengthening communities across the country.”  

Klobuchar has been traveling across Minnesota on her “Made in America” economic tour to highlight successful Minnesota businesses and discuss how these companies’ innovative practices are creating jobs and boosting local economies. Klobuchar serves as chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Competitiveness, Innovation and Export Promotion, and has introduced the bipartisan “Innovate America Act” to promote innovation and boost America’s ability to compete in the global economy.
