Washington, D.C. - Today Congressman Donnelly released the following statement on the current status of the economy:
“People in north central Indiana have been anxious about the economy for quite some time. When I travel the district, people tell me that they feel as though they’re being piled on—mortgage concerns, rising gas prices, home heating costs and worries about keeping or getting jobs. The recent bad news about the economy is making everybody even more anxious. It’s time for Congress to do something to give the economy a shot in the arm. While it’s too early in the process to be able to predict what any economic stimulus package would look like, I’ll be pushing hard for something that’s aimed at helping working- and middle-class families. Given the importance of getting something done quickly, it’s my sincere hope that both parties come together to get results for everybody back home.”
