Liquid Waste Program

The City of Bedford has established a Liquid Waste Program to help ensure the safety of our sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems. The goal is to protect City infrastructure in order to remain compliant with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations including the Sanitary Sewer Overflow Initiative and the Texas Pollutant Discharge and Elimination System (TPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) General Permit for Storm Water Discharge. In order to meet that goal, the City of Bedford has established a program that provides for permitting the use and maintenance of grease and grit traps at establishments in the City; as well as the permitting of liquid waste haulers. Permit fees will be used to fund a City Fats, Oils, Grease education campaign. Notice letters were sent out October 1, 2009. Click here for more information and permit application forms.
