Van Hollen Statement on the Earthquake in Haiti

Today Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) issued the following statement on the earthquake in Haiti:
“My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Haiti as they continue to deal with yesterday’s devastating disaster, as well as their families in the United States and across the world who are concerned for their loved ones. President Obama has committed our nation’s assistance in helping Haiti – a nation that already suffers from widespread poverty and has recently weathered several destructive hurricanes – recover from this earthquake, and Congress stands with him in that pledge.”
