New Orleans Man Indicted for Federal Charges Relating to Murder and Carjacking
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – WALTER CONLEY, aka Ike Neezy
(23yrs old), of New Orleans, Louisiana, was charged in a three count indictment by a Federal Grand Jury with murder, carjacking, and discharging a firearm during a carjacking.
According to the indictment, CONLEY is charged with murdering Paul May back on September 14, 2008. He is also charged with committing a carjacking in Jefferson Parish where he shot the victim and forcefully took the victim's car.
CONLEY faces a possible death sentence for the murder (Count 1), a maximum term of imprisonment of twenty-five (25) years, a fine of $250,000.00 and five (5) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment for the carjacking (Count 2), and minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life as to the discharge of a firearm in furtherance of the carjacking.
U. S. Attorney Letten reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case is being investigated by the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and prosecuted by Assistant United States Maurice E. Landrieu, Jr..
